Some articles that grabbed my attention this week

Don’t forget to update your phone, tablet, computer and your pacemaker

Just when you thought you only had to update your computer and your phone, you’ll now need to update your pacemaker.

In an alarming press release on Tuesday, the US Food and Drug Administration have requested those that have been fitted with a Abbott’s implantable cardiac pacemaker device.

Please note: Do not do a hard reset before updating.

We have a date for the iPhone X apple keynote

That’s right folks. After what seems like months of speculation, Apple released their invites for the release of the next iPhone and other goodies for September 12th.

The venue has also brought much excitement for those attendees, with Apple’s new spaceship campus being the venue for the very first time.

Samsung note 8 announced from the ashes (sorry)

With that much too easy to pass up pun in the title, Samsung announced their brand new note 8 this week. Due late September, it promises to be less burny than last years note.

I’ve never been a Galaxy Note owner, but those that I’ve spoken to that have owned one swear by them. With most phones being “phablet” sized these days, their differentiation has been reduced, but the promise of the dual camera setup and Steve Jobs hating stylus, it looks like it’s going to be a winner for them.

Android 8.0 Oreo ready to download for those with a Pixel

For those with a Google Pixel phone you should be receiving or already received your over the air (OTA) update to Android 8.0 Oreo this week.

In what has mainly been an update to fix internal issues, Oreo is welcome update in my opinion, which unfortunately, many Android phone won’t ever get to see. Bummer.
