Google Ads management for Mandurah businesses

If people in Mandurah are already searching for what you do, Google Ads puts you in front of them this week instead of in six months. I set campaigns up in your own account, track the calls and forms they bring in, and keep cutting the clicks that were never going to turn into work. I'm in Falcon, so the person you talk to is the person running the ads.

What Google Ads management includes

Setting up a campaign takes an afternoon. Keeping it from wasting money is the ongoing job, and it is most of what you are paying me for.

  • Everything in your own account

Your Google Ads account, your billing, your campaigns. If you stop working with me you keep the lot, history included. I remove my access and that is it.

  • Tracking before a dollar is spent

Phone calls, form submissions and taps on your number, tracked properly. Without it you are judging ads on clicks, which says nothing about whether the phone rang.

  • Targeting set to where you work

A radius drawn around the jobs you actually want, from Halls Head to Lakelands, Pinjarra or wherever you will drive to. Not the whole of Perth unless you want it.

  • The search terms read every week

Google will happily show your ad to job seekers, DIYers and people three suburbs away. I read what people really typed and exclude the ones that will never buy.

  • Ads written, and the landing page checked

Ad copy that says what you do and where. And a look at the page the click lands on, because a slow page with a hidden phone number wastes a good campaign.

  • A monthly report that names the cost per lead

What you spent, how many enquiries came in, and what each one cost. In plain English, so you can decide whether it is earning its place.

An example: how a Mandurah campaign could be set up

This is an illustration of how I would approach it, not a client result.

Say a Mandurah electrician wants more switchboard upgrades and emergency call-outs. I would start with the searches that mean someone needs an electrician now, like "emergency electrician Mandurah" or "switchboard upgrade Halls Head", and leave out the ones that usually mean research or a job hunt. The radius would follow the area they will actually drive to, and the ads would run in the hours they can answer the phone.

Mandurah has far fewer searches than Perth, so the first month would be about finding out what a lead could cost and whether enough people search for that work at all. If the numbers say Google is the wrong place to spend, I would tell them that rather than keep the campaign running.

How it works

  1. Work out what a lead is worth

What a job pays you and how many enquiries turn into one. Until that is known there is no way to say whether a $60 lead is a bargain or a disaster.

  2. Build it before it goes live

Keywords, exclusions, location radius, ad schedule, ads and conversion tracking are all set up in your account before any budget is spent.

  3. Cut the waste, every week

The first month always contains spend that should not have happened. I read the search terms, add exclusions and move budget to what brings in enquiries.

How the fee works

There are two costs, and they never mix. My management fee is a flat monthly amount, quoted before you start. Your ad spend goes to Google directly, on your own card, at a level you choose. I never take a percentage of it, because that would pay me more for telling you to spend more.

  • A flat monthly fee, quoted up front
  • Ad spend billed by Google, to your card
  • No percentage of your ad spend
  • Month to month, no minimum term
  • Your account and its history stay yours
  • You deal with me, not an account manager

Who it suits

Google Ads is the wrong answer for plenty of businesses. Here is how to tell before you spend anything.

  • People already search for what you do

Trades, repairs, emergency work, local services. If nobody types it into Google, there is nothing to buy, and Meta ads or SEO will do more for you.

  • A job is worth real money

The search terms people use when they need someone today are not cheap. If an average job is worth a few hundred dollars or more, the maths usually works.

  • Someone answers the phone

A lead from an ad goes cold in hours. If enquiries wait until Friday, the ads will look like they failed when it was the follow-up.

Google Ads questions from Mandurah businesses

What does Google Ads management cost?
A flat monthly fee, separate from your ad spend, which you pay to Google directly. I quote it before you start and it does not change because your budget does. I will give you the figure on a free call, once I know what the campaign needs to do.
How much should I spend on the ads themselves?
Enough to learn something in a month. Below a certain point you cannot tell a bad campaign from an unlucky one. Mandurah has fewer searches than Perth, so a local campaign often needs less than people expect. I check what clicks cost for your kind of work, suggest a starting figure, and you decide.
Is this the same as Google AdWords?
Yes. Google renamed AdWords to Google Ads in 2018. Same platform, same idea: you pay when someone clicks your ad after searching for what you do.
I tried Google Ads before and it did not work. Why would this be different?
Usually the first attempt could never have been judged: no conversion tracking, broad keywords, no exclusions, and clicks landing on a weak page. That burns money on any business. It is not proof Google Ads cannot work for you, and I will look at the old account before suggesting you try again.
Do I need to be in Mandurah to work with you?
No. I am in Falcon and run campaigns for businesses across Australia. If you are in Mandurah or the Peel region we can meet in person. For the bigger picture, my paid ads page covers Facebook and Instagram ads too, and everything I do in Mandurah is on one page.
